28-Day Tiny Creativity Jam | Day 1 | Chrome

A silent spaceship sits alone in the lonely, expansive universe. Metallic liquid drips from the ceiling to the ground in a slow rhythm. The multi-coloured sheen is mixed in with the crimson hue from the viscera left behind, creating a grotesque visual of Christmas wrapping paper. There's a blood trail escaping a tongue that was once used to scream. It lines the floor in a staggered line, following a path all the way to the silvery claws of a creature draped in melted chromium, dragging behind it the remains of what used to be a human, a person, a living being just like itself. The creature turns a corner to automatic doors that won't open, but it oozes through the narrow gap in-between with ease. The human remains don't make it through, just lying on the floor left behind like the beast got bored with its plaything. Done for the day, the creature scans the ship's kitchen looking for the next appliance it can camouflage itself on, ready for the back-up crew to make their...

Hyrule Warriors (Definitive Edition) Review

Gaming Hound - Hyrule Warriors (Definitive Edition) Review - Saffron Taylor It’s Moblin Time So, I have recently been playing The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Warriors (Definitive Edition) and have had a blast! It’s a lot different to other games in the series but sometimes it’s good to have a change. If any of you have played Kingdom Hearts 2 and remember the pain of the 1000 Heartless battle with Sora? It’s basically that but an entire game, and you can play as different beloved characters from The Legend of Zelda series, such as Link and Zelda themselves, or you can be Fi, Midna, Ganondorf and more! This game comes with a variety of modes. ‘Legend Mode’ is the story campaign as you start off with Link and Zelda, then meet characters like Impa, Sheik, Lana and others along the way. Battle hordes of enemies in locations such as Hyrule Field and Faron Woods. In ‘Free Mode’ you can replay scenarios from ‘Legend Mode’ but with any character of your choosing. ‘Adventure Mode’ starts...

Fashion Dreamer Review

Gaming Hound - Fashion Dreamer Review - Saffron Taylor Fashion “do”, or fashion “don’t”? Good quality fashion games on consoles are few and far between. Along comes Fashion Dreamer for the Nintendo Switch – from the same developer as Style Boutique (or Style Savvy ) - syn Sophia. There was so much excitement from finally getting something that was similar enough to the aforementioned series, and from the same creators, people were hoping for something just as excellent. Since then, the reaction has been mixed. You create your own avatar – called a Muse, and there’s a decent variety of customisation to begin with, but you unlock more eye colours, hair colours and more as you play the game and level up NPCs by giving them ‘Lookits’, which is basically an outfit using the items you have liked or created. You walk around worlds called Cocoons, and there are four with different themes. There are both solo and online modes, and online mode encourages social interaction with players f...

Two Point Campus Review

Gaming Hound - Two Point Campus Review - Saffron Taylor Build Your Own University! Three words: Two . Point . Campus . I’m already obsessed with this series. Having previously played its predecessor Two Point Hospital , I just HAD to pick this next game up. If you aren’t familiar, these are management games where you build your own hospitals ( Two Point Hospital ) or university campuses in the game I’m talking about today: Two Point Campus . Two Point Hospital is essentially a remake of the classic Theme Hospital that has the same British humour, fun gameplay, and sometimes frustrating levels. Campus is their newest addition and it’s just as wacky and exciting to play. Two Point Campus takes most of the same mechanics that Two Point Hospital has like building rooms, decorating, managing staff, and racing to keep everyone happy. Take all of that and add it into universities, then instead of managing frantic patients with doctors and nurses, you are managing frantic students and teac...

Just Dance 2022 Review

Gaming Hound - Just Dance 2022 (Nintendo Switch) Review - Saffron Taylor Just Dance…Seriously! Picture this: you start up Just Dance 2022 , the loading screen comes on and you hear the echo of ‘Just DANCE (dance…dance…dance)’. You’re in your fitness gear (even if it’s just a baggy t-shirt and leggings, I’m not judging here!) with a water bottle in one hand and Joy-Con in the other, ready to get moving. You press the A button, and ‘Baby Shark’ suddenly starts blaring at max volume from the World Dance Floor at the top of the screen. Now, I would like to introduce everyone to the world of Just Dance . I’m not a gym person at all, in fact I’m admittedly a hermit, but I need to get my exercise just like everyone else. Dancing in general is fun, and to be able to do it from the comfort of your own home via a video game is honestly a godsend. Everybody should give these games a try, even if it is a £1 copy of Just Dance 2 from the charity shop. You just need to get moving and have fun while...
